Phillip Sink Wins Best Music Submission Award at the 2015 International Computer Music Conference
|
Phillip Sink's video work Frayed Cities was awarded Best Music Submission Award for the Americas Region at the 2015 International Computer Music Conference (ICMC). The conference took place at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX. Four regional prizes are awarded each year to top scoring works composed by International Computer Music Association (ICMA) members. The winners of the prizes are selected among the year's top submissions by the ICMA Board. |

Yie-Eun Chun (DM '15) Appointed Lecturer at Seoul National University |
Yie-Eun Chun (DM '15) has been appointed as a lecturer at Seoul National University, where she teaches composition courses. Chun also received various performances this summer. Her orchestral piece A Little Puppet Play was premiered by the Omaha Symphony under Maestro Thomas Wilkins conducting, and her A Game of Fives was performed by the Breakout Ensemble in Munich, Germany. |

Alfonso Tenreiro Receives LSU Orchestral Performance |
Alfonso Tenreiro's symphonic piece Remembrance held its premier on September 16, 2015 by the Louisiana State University Symphony Orchestra. The piece was commissioned by Janice Pellar, an alumna of the LSU Music School. Mr. Tenreiro was also invited to speak to the composition students about his experience as a composer and the entrepreneurial aspects of music in his career.

Bumki Kim (DM '07) Receives Appointment at Gyeonsang National University |
Bumki Kim (D.M. 2007) recently appointed an assistant professor of music education department at Gyeonsang National University. Gyeongsang National University is located near the southern coast of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) in Jinju City, which is located in South Gyeongsang Province. As the national flagship university in Gyeongnam, GNU is equipped with world-class research skills in life science, aerospace & mechanical systems, and nano & advanced materials. |
