Indiana University Composers:
CALL FOR SCORES
ANNOUNCEMENT: Wind Ensemble Readings, Fall 2014
Professor Stephen Pratt and the band department are offering the opportunity to have works or excerpts of works-in-progress read by the band department. In addition to considering completed pieces, the session may be used to read partial works. If you have interest in composing for wind ensemble (highly recommended), consider writing a short passage and orchestrating it multiple ways, or submit portions of a work, using this opportunity to better prepare for completing a work for band.

Monday, Oct. 27, noon: deadline for score submission (see below)
Friday, Oct. 31: selections to be read will be announced, taking into consideration the submitted durations, difficulty level, and time available at the readings.
Friday, Nov. 7, noon: deadline for parts (well-prepared hard copies ready for distribution - have your teacher proof at least one part) to be delivered to the Band Office in the Simon bldg.
mid-November, after the Nov. 11 concert: The Readings
Instrumentation: standard wind ensemble (speak to your teacher). five percussionists, max. harp and piano are possible. contrabass is not provided (unless composer recruits someone).
Recording: Composers should bring in their own recording devices.
Submission: PDF files sent to pratts@indiana.edu and ddzubay@indiana.edu AND your composition teacher, who must then send Prof. Pratt a note verifying that the submission is ready to be included on a reading session and that parts will be available by Nov. 7
