Current Jacobs students: Pre-screenings and Auditions
Current Jacobs piano majors who are applying for a graduate degree in piano (D.M. excluded) are not required to submit a pre-screening. Internal applicants MUST complete the specific process outlined in the link above to be considered for a new degree. Any questions about the pre-screening process for current Jacobs students should be directed to email@example.com.
Internal student applicants MUST schedule an ad hoc audition with the piano department to be considered for a new degree program. There are no exceptions. Current Jacobs piano majors are not permitted to audition during the usual three audition weekends and must schedule an ad hoc audition by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Ad hoc auditions take place during regularly scheduled hearings on Mondays. In some cases, a recital hearing can double as an ad hoc audition for a new degree program. Please consult your studio teacher about utilizing your recital hearing as an ad hoc audition.
The full schedule of hearing dates can be found on the hearings page. Please note that current Jacobs piano majors applying for a new graduate degree who wish to be considered for an Associate Instructor (AI) position must complete their ad hoc audition by a specified date in the spring semester. You can find this date on the hearings page.
